The reverse pumping installation is similar to the dry pit design except the bowl assembly (pumping element) configuration is reversed. The water to be pumped enters the pump suction from above. Water is discharged downward and turned horizontally to be delivered to the desired destination. A positive suction inlet pressure is required for this type of pump.
